Dominique Rizzo—a chef with soul
As a Chef/Author and Presenter Dominique’s aim is to inspire the community to cook with fresh, seasonal and local produce to improve your health, inspire creative cooking and bring vitality into the kitchen. Dominique’s life and work centres around her philosophy;
"through the sharing of food we share life and one is never lonely or hungry."
Dominique’s first cook book “My Taste of Sicily” was launched in 2011 showcasing a beautiful collection of delicious family friendly traditional and Sicilian inspired recipes highlighting her passion for fresh healthy cooking and her Sicilian heritage.
It has been a dream of Dominique’s for many years to be able to share her passion for all things Italian with like minded foodies. So Dominique created “Pure Sicilian Food, Wine and Cooking Tours” taking small groups of 12-14 people on an amazing cooking, eating and cultural experience through East and Western Sicily including the surrounding Aeolian Islands. With three booked out tours in 2012 and taking bookings for 2013 tours, Dominique is able to share firsthand the love for this island, the specialties and unique culture of this amazing land.
With a special guest appearance on iconic morning show “Today” during a recent trip to New York, Dominique also has 12 years experience working in Australian television, radio and media. This includes a long-standing role on Channel 10’s Ready, Steady, Cook, regular guest spots on The Circle, and new Masterclass cooking segments on Mornings Channel 9. “It continually excites me working in a variety of media platforms and I am looking forward to the new opportunities on the horizon for 2012/13.”
Dominique is Resident Chef for Australian BBC Good Food Magazine with recipes focusing on family friendly seasonal meals with a twist and continues to write for the Courier Mail Ipad App Column.
Dominique is able to share her abundant knowledge through cooking presentations for all ages, for all levels of cooking styles, focusing not only on her true passion of Italian and Sicilian recipes and culture but incorporating an emphasis on all cuisines celebrating our amazing melting pot of a multicultural kitchen.
